This is a very touching story. I absolutely enjoyed reading this one. This story is about a child wanting to have a gift for his baby sister arrival. He decides to plant a tree like his grandfather. Every time he planted a tree, he was having problems keeping it alive. Then, one day someone told him he has to have faith that it will grow. So, he built a wall around his tree and hoped it would grow. Finally, it started to grow! A brother struggles to grow a special mango tree for his new born sister. When his dad always told him that since he can not be around to provide for his sister, he much do so. This young boy goes on a long journey of creating the perfect mango tree for his sister. Once he succeeds, him and his sister are able to play on the tree and forever have mango! This book takes you into the life of a young boy named Facile. He has a new baby sister, and struggles to make a special gift grow. I loved reading this story because it teaches you a couple of words in Haitian Creole throughout the book.
