This biography picture book describes the rise of brother-and-sister dancing team Fred and Adele Astaire. Though Adele was considered the “real” dancer of the family, Fred worked desperately hard to match her talent and soon earned a reputation as one of the best dancers of his time Fred and Adele Astaire started their dancing jouney at a young age. Adele was the dancer of the family, but Fred decided that he also wanted to dance. They performed many times together, but as they grew old so did their act. Fred and Adele had to come up with new acts in order to stay on top. Fred found his real calling when motion pictures were invented. Hcould dance the same act many times but when it is filmed he can move on to another act. Meanwhile, Adele married and hung up her dancing shoes. This is a great book to use for research, but too lenghty for a read aloud. The illustrations are very detailed and give great meaning to the text. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
