Willafred Havisham never met her father who died in a hot air balloon accident the day after the wedding. Her mother Stella has never remarried; cool and businesslike, she throws all of her energies into her wedding planning business. They've never stayed long in one place. Ass soon as Stella feels she's getting too close to a guy they move. Now they're living on Cape Cod which Willa loves. Her English teacher Sam lives next door and she believes he would be the perfect husband to Stella, not to mention a long-desired father to Willa. Ever so slowly Stella warms up to Sam and Willa believes her longtime birthday wish of a new father will soon come true. But when Willa ends up ruining a celebrity wedding and consequently her mother's business, her dream of staying "on Cape" is no longer certain. Willa and her mother have lived all over the Northeast but now they have settled in her mother's hometown of Bramble on Cape Cod. Willa loves it there but she knows it is only a matter of time until her mother, a famous wedding planner, wants to move again. Willa is determined to find a husband for her mother so she can fulfill her lifelong wish to have a father. She finds the perfect candidate in her new neighbor. This was a fun book. Willa is not yet 13 so this book is definitely a tween more than teen book. Willa's family and friends are a nice set of people that should make a fun series. I will probably by reading more in the series. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Willa is a 12 year old nerdy girl who is trying to help her Mom (a wedding planner) get hooked up and married with her English teacher. But disaster strikes, and this may not work out as well as Willa planned. Will it all work out?
This book is ridiculously cute and horribly addicting. I found it super quick to read and super fun. It's a relaxing book for sure. While the book is designed for middle graders, this book could easily be enjoy by an adult who just wants a fast, fun yet simple read. It's delightful!
Three out of five stars. ( )
