'Without question this book is a must for anyone interested in strength training or in teaching strength training. No other book more clearly represents the functional anatomy of nearly eavery resistance training exercise. The illustrations are highly detailed and the material is accurate. This book will spend very little time on our bookshelf because you will constantly be referring to it.'-David R. Pearson, PhD. CSCS, Associate Professor of Exercise Physiology, Ball State University, Muncie, IN

Get an inside view of the muscles in action during every exercise you perform. This ultimate strangth reference contains full-color, detailed anatomical drawings of exercises that target every major muscle group, along with full descriptions of how to perform them. The illustrations graphically depict both the muscles and the bones, with variations showing how the exercises can be modified to isolate specific muscles. It's like having an Xray of each exercise!

The former editor-in-chief of the French magazines PowerMag, author and illustrator Frederic Delavier is currently a journalist for the French magazine Le Monde du Muscle and a contributor to several other muscle publications, including Men's Health Germany.

Excellent look at weightlifting exercises, descriptions, how to's, and graphic representations of the actual muscles being worked. Nice workout bible. ( )

Essential training or reference book. I've owned and used prior editions of this book since...2000. This one includes a better cutaway of the body in motion, and adds information on injuries and where common injuries occur.

Essential to add to your workout bag...and reference library. ( )

Ignoring the cross-section cover art and the small text, this is a good book for anyone who wants to begin a weight lifting regime or change or modify their current regime. (I fall into the second category). Strength Training Anatomy is also a useful book for students studying the human body. The pages are full of color and detail, and each exercise is described to the max. ( )

Better than much more expensive books in the genre. Every page has one exercise and a large illustration of the muscles it primarily and secondarity works out. Yes, the cover is stupid looking, but you can cut it off; I did.
