Cahill, Bryson, Adams, Barry, et al, should be funny, but all they could elicit were a couple of dry dusty road chuckles. This is a compilation of short magazine article style stories, interspersed with even shorter vignettes and really corny cartoons. There are apparently several other titles in this series, each with an equally clever title. Lite fare for the lite traveler. ( )
This book was very amusing, I especially liked the Brad Newsham ones and 'Passing the Test'. About what I expected from this type of collection, some good laughs on a long bus ride.
Ironically, not as entertaining as Cahill's own collection of writings. Most the entrees were moderately amusing, but many didn't have the edge that great travel writing should have. A good airplane or summer book. ( )
