Magic most definitely resides in the Maine summerhouse where the mysterious Madame Zoya has granted the innermost wishes of its visitors. Now, three women have come to this special place with one thing in common: a painful past they would each like to rewrite. Amy, who hides a heartbreaking loss behind her seemingly perfect marriage and family, Faith, a widow in her thirties whose deepest grief is for a man from years ago, and Zoe, an artist shunned by her hometown for reasons she doesn't know, after a traumatic night erased her memory. With their mystical powers, Madame Zoya and her sister Primrose are about to transport the trio to eighteenth-century England to alter Amy's ancestry. But although surprises await each of them, will stepping back in time bring the women the happy endings they seek?… (plus d'informations)

This time traveling adventure is the second book of the Summerhouse Series, and just the magical break I needed. The story has the same premise as the first book, but with a new group of ladies who, like it or not, are time traveling together.
Wonderfully detailed, this fast paced story takes you on a suspenseful and clever journey to an eighteenth century English countryside. The plot is captivating and so artfully woven with endearing characters, that I didn't want this story to end!
I enjoyed this book more than the first one! Now on to book #3. ( )

Three women are given a chance to go back in time and change their lives. One goes to the distant past ( )

I loved The Summerhouse and I love Return to Summerhouse. Another 3 women desperately in need of a change. Not only are they able to go back into their own timeline to make needed changes to their life but this time back into an ancestors past to change a whole family line. The book is filled with romance, humor, some mystery, and some history. It was a really great book that kept me interested the entire time. ( )

"Return to Summerhouse", by Jude Deveraux was only the second book I have read by this author. This story did not disappoint I was a little worried that it would be just a repeat of, "The Summerhouse." I was pleasantly surprised that the stories were very different. In Return to Summerhouse you have 3 women who are to meet at the Summerhouse in Maine again. Amy a housewife with two children trying to move past the miscarriage she recently had. Zoe, a confused artist that cannot remember why the town she grew up in wants nothing to do with her. Faith, a widow with a lot of heartache struggling to move forward. As all three women settle into the house they are cautious, but optimistic to try to get what they were sent to this house for. Amy spends one day in the old library reading a fascinating book which happens to hold the business card to Madame Zoya. All three women end up going to Madame Zoya only to find out that they can be transported back to any time for 3 weeks to possibly change the course of their future. All three women go back to the 18th Century to a time that is unfamiliar and very different from the current world they live in. While they are in this different time they all realize new things about themselves and come back very different people. There is romance, compassion and comfort for these three women in the 18th Century. The story held my attention to see what the other two women chose to do with their opportunity. Throughout the book the author makes each character who is flawed very likable and made you really want to see each of them happy. I am very pleased with Jude Deveraux and so excited to have found an author that keeps my attention. I look forward to more of her books in the future.

I really liked this time travel book about three women, Amy who recently miscarried, widow Faith, and Zoe who has amnesia. It covers their lives today, three weeks in 1797 England, and then their lives after this experience. It’s like seven romances in one, a real treat for the romance lover.
