It was a disappointment in an exciting Berry novel that he described St. Mark as one of the twelve disciples of Jesus. This is not historical nor was that particular historical revision necessary for his story. The Venetian Betrayal is a long book. As per all of Steve Berry's books, a tremendous amount of research goes into writing. The key pieces were the discovery of an AIDS cure and the discovery of Alexander the Great's burial chamber. Two important finds. The settings were well described as were the characters. There are good guys and bad guy. There is a lot of killing. Four stars were given to this book.
