One of my favorite herbal books is Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs, so I was very excited to find this book. It is interesting because it is about crafting less mainstream magical items like wands or colored tabards, but more traditional and "homey" crafts like corn dollies and brooms. I loved the introduction about the the magic of hands, and that there is power in creating things that are now considered mundane crafts. I was surprised, however, by the lack of detail in the history and lore of each craft. I thought the introductions would be more in-depth, and its very quick to read. I do like the appendices of where to order things, and the bibliography, so I could find books about some of the crafts that might be more in-depth. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique

When crafts are used to create objects intended for ritual or to symbolize the divine, the connection between the craftsperson and divinity grows more intense.
