Kevin is her smoking hot neighbor, who helps trouble youth by day and turns biker boy by night. Mia is fine admitting the chemistry is there but won't give any more than that. But when Mia's niece ends up on their doorstep, she needs Kevin more than ever. I normally like the guys to be the alpha but this one works the other way. Mia is the reluctant one and Kevin wears his heart on his sleeve. The chemistry between these two is HOT. Great buildup, interesting story. Maybe a little angst but nothing over the top. Just a good, contemporary romance read. I received this book in exchange for an honest book review. ABOUT THE BOOK: Trusting the heart is the most sensual risk of all With a fab career, a salary that keeps her in her favorite designers, and her own condo, Mia Appleby has everything she dreamed of as a poor little girl gazing out the window of her mom's trailer. Her old life is completely gone. That is until she has a one-night stand with her handsome new neighbor, Kevin McNight. She ends it before she totally falls for him. But Kevin isn't like other men and won't let Mia off that easy. And neither will her runaway Goth niece, Hope, who inconveniently shows up at her doorstep with hopes for a new life. Now, Mia must keep her new fan club at a safe distance-before they burst her fairytale facade. REVIEW: Jill Shalvis hit it right on the mark with this book! It has every ingredient needed for a sexy and thrilling romance. I loved watching Mia fall in this book. She put up a fight, don’t get me wrong, and she made Kevin work for every inch she gave (pun intended) but it was a well thought out story that showed not only the vulnerability with these two, but also their strength to go after what they want, and when they had to admit they were wrong. It’s a lesson in life many couples should follow and the sweetness of the ending truly tugged at your heart strings. I loved Hope in this as well and truly hope to see her in the future. Her Sexiest Mistake is a book you don’t want to pass up. This is also one that will have you laughing out loud and wincing when they ALL make absolute fools of themselves. Have no fret though, Jill Shalvis saves the day in the end. Five out of five stars for a very sexy read. About two pages into this book, I was sure I would hate it. It was a shocking feeling. I was certain this would become the first (and hopefully only) Jill Shavis book that I absolutely hated. My first impression was of her trying to sneak out of her latest conquest's bed as tactlessly and hurtfully as possible. In essence, I found her as likable as a self absorbed man-ho. Yes, I did not think I would enjoy this book. Surprisingly, I did! I did finally thaw (a little) towards Mia, but she was never my favorite character. I understand how she became the way she did, but I still find her too snobby for my taste. I dunno, let me know how you guys feel about her. Apparently, I was so obsessed with this lady that the only notes I wrote were about her enraging me too the point of almost madness. I could barely even remember Kevin (in fact, I had to look up his name!). I remember that he was a hot-as-hell teacher that rode a motorcycle and wanted to fix everybody's problems for them. He has a smexy younger brother who is deaf. He's really great in the sack. He's basically her walking, talking blow up doll. I guess he just wasn't that remarkable to me. Sadly, I think I was more entertained by the situations Mia and her niece, Hope, seem to get into together. In conclusion, this book was a little bit blah, but in the end I enjoyed it. Jill Shavis's work has definitely improved since she wrote HER SEXIEST MISTAKE. Read full review @ No Book Left Behind aucune critique | ajouter une critique
