On a warm spring morning in May 1986, twelve crew members were crossing the Atlantic on perhaps the most historically accurate sailboat of its day, the Pride of Baltimore. The wind was brisk, the mood was relaxed: they were on the journey home. Within hours, a sudden, fierce storm would overwhelm the ship, leaving four sailors dead and eight locked in a terrifying battle against the sea. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

Whoever like stories of history about sea travel on a Baltimore clipper ship will enjoy this book. History Many years ago clipper ships crossed the Atlantic on a voyage of pride but also sometimes the sea could also be mean and soon their ship gets wrecked. The author was pretty accurate about his information and also in developing his character.
The story is about the sinking of a ship in 1986. It was an interesting story. I read the information on how they built those ships, navigating the ocean at calm and treacherous times. Also, the captain selects certain people who have special ways of staying on top of what needs to be done and when. They need to be alert, capable and have the strength to travel the voyage. This story has sadness but it's still inspiring. It's like the reader being there and hearing the ship crew talk about the arguments, and most of all the courage trying to survive and work together.
