Princess Sophia is the last of a royal family who have ruled over a small Island near Greece. Now there are forces determined to stop her from taking her role as princess. When her party is ambushed en route to a meeting Sophia escapes to a farm. The farm is leased by Gariel Knight. He has given up his posessions and laid down his arms. Now Sopia comes into his world and he's not sure what to do with her. Initially he thinks she's a gypsy hired by his brother, but when he finds out who she is he's taken aback as she's well above his station and he's fallen for her. Love conquers all, fairly predictable plot and not a patch on the first of this sequence. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
Appartient à la sérieThe Spice Trilogy (Book 3)
From the glittering ballrooms of Regency England to the sapphire waters of the Mediterranean, the dazzling finale of Gaelen Foley’s Spice trilogy unfurls the passionate tale of a rebel princess and the powerful warrior destined to become her champion. Princess Sophia was only a child when Napoleon conquered the island paradise ruled by her father. Raised in England and now twenty-one, she means to claim the throne that is rightfully hers and bring peace to her war-torn land. But an ambush by enemies forces Sophia into hiding outside London. Disguising herself as a peasant girl until she can safely return, she meets Major Gabriel Knight, a wounded warrior whose brush with death has utterly changed him. Heir to a great fortune, and a master swordsman, Gabriel has given up his worldly possessions and laid down his arms. Sophia is fascinated by his brooding magnetism, and Gabriel, lured by her fiery beauty and healed by her touch, is drawn back inexorably toward the world of the living. But when Sophia’s royal destiny is revealed, Gabriel knows he must take up his sword again, whatever the cost, to protect his princess from those who would destroy her. And as longing blossoms into passion, Gabriel discovers the one cause that is truly worth fighting for. . . . Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

Gabriel is one of those alpha males that must take care of people. He is caring and compassionate as the incident in the barn with the kittens shows. He is one of those men that sacrifice themselves to save their men in battle. Gabriel is also courageous and honorable. He is one of those men that so many of us would love to have in our beds. He is gentle and loving with Sophia even when she needs to be spanked. I am so glad that he found someone that will love him and provide a direction that he has lost.
Sophia is also a caring and compassionate young woman. She is determined to reach her kingdom and help her people. She is fierce and courageous. She is also loyal to a fault. It was so fun at times to watch her and Gabriel butt heads. Her only real problem is that she has been spoiled and thinks that getting her way is all important. The way that she treated Gabriel in the last few chapters of the book set my teeth on edge. Things work out in the end; however it is hard to read.
This is a wonderful book that shows some of the history of the Mediterranean after the war with Napoleon. We are also given a glimpse into the politics of the Ottoman Empire. There are some intense battles in this book and some very steamy love scenes. This is a quick moving book that is very entertaining. I hope that those that read it are just a entertained as I was. ( )
