I really enjoyed this book. It tells the story of Sarah when her grandfather passed away. She holds onto all of the memories she had with him, but is too upset to share them with family. but she remembers one thing he used to say, "Everything and everyone goes on and on". The story ends with Sarah's Grandpa's memory shown through his garden when harvest season comes. ( )

This sweet sweet book addresses dealing with the loss of a loved one. Sarah and her grandma reminisce on the happy memories with her grandpa. Sarah tries to remember what he used to tell her, and she reminisces back when they were both in the garden, and that brings back her best memories. ( )

Jacqueline Woodson paints a young girl's portrait of dealing with the grief of losing her grandfather. She gives wantonness and beloved hope new life with fond memories shared by her grandmother. Woodson paints a personal picture of family and how a child's personal perception of grief through the eyes of joyous occasion takes place. For me, the book was a very closely kept personal depiction of Woodson's own life growing up. It spoke vn close unguarded terms and I believe children who hear this story would relate to its reflective message. ( )

This is about a girl that is listening to her Grandpa tell stories of him growing up. And the rest of the family members talking memories that surround Grandpa. But little Sarah was to shy and sad to share anything about her Grandpa.

I thought that it was a cute book. it's something that I would probably read to my son because it's more family oriented than anything.

Jacqueline Woodson is one of my all time favorite authors. Her words flow on the page beautifully can teach such meaningful lessons to readers of all ages. She often writes about issues that many people can relate to. For example, in this book, she addresses the issue of coping with loss. This book is about a young girl named Sarah's take on death. She has lost her grandpa and is adjusting to life without him. Throughout this book, she and her family, including aunts, uncles, and cousins, are reliving and smiling about what their grandpa taught them and the great life he lived. I love this book because it can teach readers about death and ways to cope with it. Sarah cries and enjoys talking about her grandpa. There is a saying that he told everyone about life. The family smiled through their tears, reminiscing. I would read this book to students in a classroom because it can teach readers about enjoying life and the legacy they leave behind. ( )
