I've enjoyed this innovative and culturally inclusive book series. Let's Try It In the Water is a great way to get young readers thinking about buoyancy by showcasing a myriad of everyday activities that everyone can participate in. It's nice to see different children of many different backgrounds learning together - and the activities seen in this book do not require purchasing any extra items, which gives ALL students a chance to participate and have fun. Opportunities to learn about how different objects will respond when in and out of the water. I love how the author made these experiments tangible, going so far to suggest that even a bathtub can become a laboratory where children can observe and draw their own conclusions in ways that are relevant to them. Great use of the book's title as an invitation to learning. Let's Try It Out! This book was interesting to read because it kind of tells a story about all of the cool things items in water can do, but it also gives directions for conducting experiments and testing out what water can do. I would probably not read this book all the way through. I would either read just a few pages to introduce the ideas behind an experiment and then conduct it, or I would split the book up into sections and assign a section to a group of students and have them conduct the experiment in their group. I enjoyed the book, but I do feel like it also has a specific time and place for it to be used, and I do not know exactly where I would want to incorporate it into a curriculum/ lesson. This book allows students to become scientists on their own. The book guides them through their own experiments that they can do at home or at school. Sending this book home with students for homework would be a fun way to bring science home and then have a class discussion the next day. Great book for students! aucune critique | ajouter une critique
