This was a one day read, one of those easy little beach books, but it was well done. The plot was very relatable to a large number of the population im sure, even if it doesn't parallel you exactly, you can see some similarities. The characters were all well done and played their roles to a T. There was nothing exactly special about the book, nothing to deserve a four or five star rating, but it was definitely worth a read.
Mr. Grisham's stories -- even the short, anomalous ones like his last small book, ''Skipping Christmas'' -- generally have more storytelling force than ''Bleachers'' does. His purpose this time seems more reflective than showy, and his love for this sports-related subject matter is palpably real. This is not a legal thriller but a book about football. It is well-told and fast-paced. A good, quick read. ( )
