This is a great informational text for elementary students to read! I liked this book because of the detailed illustrations. The illustrations show exactly what is being talked about in the text which is good for students to be able to have a visual reference to the words that they are reading. The writing is very organized into a pattern-like form. This allows students to pick up and retain more information. The overall message of this book is to teach children about the rain forest and the different aspects that make up a rain forest. Such as, who lives in the rain forest. It's not just about the plants.

I enjoyed this book. I liked this book because of the beautiful illustrations. The illustrations really expanded the text and gave a great visual for what these animals and plants looked like. The illustrations gave the text a real life feel. I also liked this book because of the way the author presented the content. The author set up the content in a pattern. The made the material easy and fun to read. It was a mix up from reading straight forward information. It was also fun to read the author's fun facts listed on the side of each page. The big message of this idea was to inform readers about the animals and plants that are key to the rainforest ecosystem. ( )
