I am an unrepentant fan of the American Girl books- this one, the story of a girl who finds it hard to not take on too much is both a heartwarming story, and good for the reader. I think we need more books like this. ( )

Nicki has learned to say "No" to too many activities- but now she's got even harder things to learn. She has to learn to say goodbye to the service dog she's trained, and she has to learn how to balance two friendships between friends that don't like each other but both need her. Nicki comes to terms with losing her dog after meeting the new owner, and her friends come to terms with each other. ( )
