Jane Madison's story continues in Sorcery and the Single Girl. Librarian-witch Jane has been "invited" to join the prestigious Washington Coven, a necessary step if she's going to hold onto her feline familiar, her beloved arcane books, and her hunky warder, David Montrose. The Coven's tests become even more challenging when Jane must decide if she can trust her new witchy friend, Haylee. And then there's that handsome Brit, Graeme Henderson, who is proving himself to be most distracting... Jane is about to be tested in ways she's never imagined. Pass or fail, nothing will ever be the same.

Jane is back and fighting for the right to retain her magical legacy. She's also struggling with those deep down insecurities that she felt in high school in connection with the popular crowd. I really disliked the way Jane was taken advantage of because of those insecurities - and I wish there had been better communication between Jane and her warder. But Jane kicks butt in the end and it was awesome! ( )

Synopsis: Jane Madison and her best friend Melissa usually have Mojito Therapy at the end of each week. Both are unattached, looking for a significant relationship and having bad luck. While Melissa is a baker with her own bakery, Jane is a librarian and a witch. The librarian job is mainly normal, but being a witch with a warder and a familiar can lead to problems. Jane is really surprised with the local coven invites her to come to one of their meetings and is tentatively accepted if she can perform a duty for them. She, her warder, and familiar are delighted, but things start to go wrong – except that Jane may have found the man of her dreams. Unfortunately, because Melissa is jealous of Neko (Jane’s familiar) Jane has promised not to tell either Neko or her warder about this new man. Things go from bad to worse when Jane finds that the only witch who has befriended her was the one who had her warder demoted; there are still bad feelings between them. And things continue to get worse until Jane realizes that the coven isn’t what she thinks it is.

Review: Second in the series and continues to develop the characters. These books are brain candy; just fun to read. ( )

Nice, fast read. So glad Jane Madison does what she did at the very end of the book and can't wait to read the next one. ( )

if the networks were smart (haha) they would take all three books and turn them into to mini - series....(like they did with the starter wife) they would have three great mini-series (at 6 or 13.. depending on the budget) that you could show for 3 summers.....just saying...... ( )
