"Mailbox", K-Gr 1, Jun/Jul 2006 I really liked this book for a number of reasons. To start off, the story was very funny. The humor in the book keeps the reader’s attention and makes the reader want to keep reading to find out what other silly things Amelia Bedelia will do. For example, a cow comes and sticks its head in the window as Amelia Bedelia is driving, and Mr. Rogers tells her to push on the horn to scare it away. Instead of pushing on the car horn, Amelia Bedelia reaches her hand out the window and pushes on the cow’s horn. Another reason that I liked this book was because the characters’ faces in the illustrations represented their emotions. For example, when Amelia Bedelia is stressing Mr. Rogers out, he has a straight face and very rosy cheeks. When he is happy, he has a slight grin and his cheeks are a normal skin color. The illustrations also were appropriate for the story, as every page demonstrated what was happening. I think the main idea of the story was to simply entertain. The story was proved to be entertaining and engaging. This was a cute book with a lot of different sayings and funny things happening in it. The story is just a silly one but it also teaches children to make sure that they are listening correctly or they will get in trouble or they won't know what to do. The book is funny and show how the character in the book is very confused and doesn't understand what is going on. Kids will enjoy this book because it has a lot of humor in the book. This is one of the many Amelia Badelia books. It is very entertaining. In this one, Amelia is driving to pick up her cousin. She takes everything literally. At one point, she is asked to look for the fork in the road, and she literally stops to look for a fork. This book will have kids laughing the entire time. I recommend this book for younger children, since it is very easy to read. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
Amelia Bedelia's literalness causes some problems when Mr. Rogers takes her out to practice her driving. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
