Told entirely in dialogue through speech balloons, here is the clever fable of two talkative fleas, who hop unseen from a dog's back to a porcupine's quills to a crow's wings. Arguing all the way, they finally agree that each flea should live his life the way he sees fit. Full color. Charming story of friends with different attitudes toward adventure. Pairs well with city mouse/country mouse, Frog and Toad, or Elephant and Piggie. The art style is cute and collage-like, similar to Eric Carle but with a more muted palette. The fleas are invisible, indicated only by speech bubbles, but their larger animal hosts' expressions are easy for little kids to understand. This story is about two fleas that are on a dog. One is content with being there and the other would like to see the world. They learn that they are both different and want and like different things. Which, is quite okay! I love that Lionni uses a flea! What an odd creature to create a story about? It has a bit of truth to it. Fleas can move around in many different places. Like in other stories, Lionni provides some information about the things in his story. He shows the duck in the water. The mole underground. He likes to use animals in his stories. It was interesting to read that he loved nature and had quite a bit of small animals for pets. A Flea Story is about two fleas who live on a dog. One of them always wants to go and see the world and the other one wants to stay on the dog. They sit on different animals until in the end the one who doesn't want to travel goes back to the dog and the other one flies away with a bird. This story could teach children that it's important to make many experiences, to travel, and to see new things. Although it sometimes is more comfortable to stay where you are, you should take the chance and do something in your life. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
