This book is a great book because it has large, colorful illustrations. Also, it provides opportunity to do a variety of voices with all of the characters. This book would be a great read when discussing the benefits of eating healthy to a class. A funny book with substance Ages: 7-9. www.rosemarywells.com Teaching healthy habits to young children is very important. This book shows benefits of eating healthy and the consequences of making poor diet choices. It also shows the benefits of exercise and the consequences of lack of exercise. The illustrations are great for getting students attention with pictures of common foods like sodas and burgers. The characters also show how much happier they are when eating healthy and being active. The Gulps are an overweight family with one daughter who likes to eat healthy. They try to go on vacation, but are so heavy that the camper breaks down and will not drive any further. They spend teh summer working on a farm and eating right and at the end of the summer, they can drive in their camper again. I know that this book has gotten some bad reviews by people saying that it negatively portrays overweight people, but I think this is an amazing kids book that shows kids how to eat healthy and exercise to be lean and fit. Too many families rely heavily on fast food, pizza, soda, and junk food and wonder why they and their kids are so unhealthy! aucune critique | ajouter une critique

This book is about a family of bunnies that live off of fast food, frozen food and died food. This family of bunnies decides to go on a road trip. When they are packing for their road trip they decided to take with them tv's, their "winky-twinks and Jiffy-chips." Their road trip was going great when all of a sudden their van came to a complete stop in the middle of nowhere. When the family of bunnies is trying to decide what to do a man named Farmer Spratt invited them over to his farm to help him outside and feed them. What the bunnies did not know was that Farmer Spratt was going to feed them green food the whole time. In the end, the family of bunnies knew that in order to go back home they needed to stop eating fast food, frozen food, candy, etc. and start exercising more. When the family of bunnies decided to take back their life they were able to go home because their van finally worked again.
I think this is a good fantasy book because it shows kids how important exercising and eating healthy is through the lives of a family of bunnies who eat nothing but fast food, and in the end that hurts them and they decide they have to change their diet in order to live better. This is a good Fantasy book because in this book the family of bunnies are driving cars, talking, and eating food that humans eat, and in the real world bunnies cannot talk, they cannot drive cars, and they do not eat "winky-twinks and jiffy-chips."
