I was really looking forward to some good ghost stories and I'm so disappointed. I'm almost done with the book and the stories are just getting worse. So far there was only one story worth reading and it wasn't worth the price of the book. The typos are a distraction and also adds to the disappointment in the book. I wouldn't recommend it. ( )
Was a fun read. Liked the early part of the book the best as it was more detailed ghost stories. On an interesting note she actually spoke to Jim Williams of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil fame prior to those events transpiring. One of the houses he had restored prior to Mercer house is a haunted house mentioned in this book. As others have noted Savannah takes pride in it's history of old house, pirates and ghosts. Towards the end of the book she seems to veer off topic and goes on into ESP and reincarnation, but all in all a good book. ( )
Not a bad way to familiarize yourself with some of the most well known "haunted" places in Savannah, but the writing is not as engaging as the stories themselves are. Quite a boring read, actually. ( )
If you have travelled to Savannah, you are aware of how much they take pride in their historic landmarks & their pirate legacy. As many southerners love to embellish a story, these tales are fun to read. ( )
