I loved the book Mrs. Peachtree and the Eighth Avenue Cat by Erica Silverman. I myself love helping strays and completely connected with this book. I like how in the beginning of this book Mrs. Peachtree does her best to not like the cat while she feeds him every night. She would not accept the cat’s affection. If he purred she would say “don’t you try to butter me up cat!” If the cat came to the store during the day she would yell “scat, cat! And don’t come back!” She also grumbled ‘you again?” every time the cat returned. But the whole time she did this she was still feeding him every night. I really liked the ending of this book. Even though Mrs. Peachtree tried not to like the cat, she ends up liking the cat and keeping it. When the cat goes missing from their nightly feedings, Mrs. Peachtree searches for him. When he finally returns she exclaims “Look at that! My cat came back!” And the book ends with her giving him the name “Shadow.” Although this book is entertaining I feel like the main idea goes to show that you can’t help who you love. Even a scruffy, one eared, and persistent stray cat. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
