A bit too mushy at times with the budding romance between Max and Liz. Very teen-angst. But a fun read, and interesting to see how some of the elements of the book differed from the Roswell tv adaptation in the early 2000's. (A show which I loved). Clearly the tv show was going for more drama. Maria, and especially Alex, were not aware of the aliens- on-earth as quickly as portrayed in this first book. And Alex was geeky/awkward in the show, whereas the book portrays him as a cool, confident guy that Isabel is interested in nearly right away. And there was no talk in the show about the auras that only Max, Isabel and Michael can see in humans. Yes, many things different from the show, but excited to keep reading the next volume in this series. ( ) Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. It works. It's fun enough. If you like the newer series, this fits right in. I wasn't enthralled, but I still enjoyed it as a casual listen. The narrator did an okay job, but I almost felt a more feminine voice would have worked better. I don't know why. I received the audiobook free through LibraryThing Early Reviewers. I've never watched the show so I didn't have any preconceived ideas about how the book would be. It was a pretty typical YA SciFi series book. There were aliens, romance, danger and lots of action. I didn't find it to be bad but it wasn't great either. The audio version was ok, the narrator was a little lacking in emotion but it was satisfactory. All in all this was an average read/listen but was not memorable or outstanding. Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. I adored the original show that is based on this book series and, while it was initially jarring to read a different description of Max from the 90's show, it was quite lovely to read the characters thoughts during the action of the original story. The narrator of the audio reads well but the voices aren't very exciting or distinguishable. If you enjoy alien stories or watching the original series, I would recommend dipping into the inspiration. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

He's not like other guys. Liz has seen him around school. It's hard to miss Max-the tall, blond, blue-eyed senior stands out among all the other students at Roswell High. So why is he such a loner? Max is in love with Liz. He loves the way her eyes light up when she laughs and the way her long, black hair moves when she turns her head. Most of all, he loves to imagine what it would be like to kiss her. But he knows he can't get too close. He can't risk her discovering the truth about who he is-or what he is . . . Because the truth could kill her. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
