With this novel, author Ana Veloso takes us to Brazil at the end of the 1800?s. The story tells of the forbidden love affair between a beautiful, intelligent and independent woman ?born to rich feudal coffee growers, and a journalist whose ideals make him an advocate for the abolition of slavery. Their passionate story will carry us through the golden age of coffee plantations leading us to their collapse after the end of slavery. This is a love that is as sensual and strong, as exiting and bittersweet as coffee itself. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
