Summary:
This book is about the stuffs in the kitchen. It's a very simple picture book from the first person, a little boy, who introduce all the things in his kitchen.

Genre:
Although it is a boy created by the author to introduce all the things in his kitchen to readers , I still think it is informational book since whatl the author want to do is to give each word a explaination with a cute image to help young readers understand the meanings of those words.

Critiques:
1. The illustrations of this book are done in color pencil.
2. The book is simple and easy to read for beginners.
3. Since the book is for young readers, every page is to introduce one thing in one word without other details in words, but the pictures are in details.

Comments on use:
Good for teachers reading aloud and show every picture of the book to students. ( )

This book is talking about a young boy who always goes into their kitchen when they get home. Then the book continue to describe what is in the kitchen like a refrigerator, a breadbox, milk, peanut butter, chicken noodle soup, spoons, bowls, napkins, and so on. In addition, This book also describes where all of these items belong to in the kitchens and classify them, such as the milk belongs to refrigerator, the peanut butter belongs to the shelf, and the spoon belongs inside the silverware drawer.
It is an information book. Information books are nonfiction and present current and accurate knowledge about sth found in our universe.
1. For teacher, easy words to prepare and easy content to teach, pictures can help to describe
2. For student, This is a great book for young kids learning to read because most of the words are simple, and the picture would help them understand the words. ( )

Genre: Realistic Fiction
I picked realistic fiction for this book because it is in fact, a story that probably takes place every day in some household across the world, where the child gets home from school and makes a lunch in his or her kitchen. The character is not fleshed out very well, so we do not know a lot about him, but the setting is clear and described nicely and as far as we know, there is nothing about it that would give us an indication of it being anything less than realistic. The setting is gradually explained to us through pictures and one or two sentences rather than all at once and it is all brought together at the end in a very nice and satisfying conclusion of the story.

Media: The media in this book is very nicely done, because it illustrates each sentence from the book, and on each page that there are only one or two sentences, if the reader cannot seem to visualize something going on, the illustrations are there to do that for them. I think the illustrations here are done in tempera paint, maybe ink pen, and maybe some liquid watercolors, because the colors are very vivid and bright, and therer are not a lot of mixing of opaque or transparent colors – the colors seem to be solid. There is a lot of outlining as well, which makes me think the pen drawings were done first. ( )
