While this is the story of the arrival of the newcomers, occasionally called 'slags' as a slang name, etc.

It is not the book on which the movies were made.

As pointed out at the bottom of the front cover it is the book or novelization of the movie Alien Nation based on the screenplay written by Rockne S. O'Bannon.

Additionally, whilst the later written Alien Nation books do concern the newcomers interaction with the Los Angeles community they have been written using information drawn from other sources. This 'other sources' can be found on the Acknowledgements page in each story book. ( )

This is the book upon which the Alien Nation Movies were made. And those movies are the basis upon which the Alien Nation book series was based. ( )
