When a fortune-teller shows bridesmaid Lauren Crow an omen of her gruesome death, she and her friends laugh it off as cheesy theatrics--until women begin disappearing in the night. Even as the streets become more dangerous, Lauren finds herself lusting after a man who is himself dangerous--and quite possibly crazy. Mark Davidson prowls the city by night armed with crosses and holy water, in search of vampires, whose existence, he insists, is real. He is as irresistibly drawn to Lauren as she is to him, and not only because she's the image of his murdered fiancee. But Mark's frightening obsession with finding his lover's killer merely hides a bitter vendetta that cuts deeper than grief over a lost love. As Lauren wrestles with desire and disbelief, sinister shadows lengthen over New Orleans, threatening her friends and foretelling a battle that may spell the end of the city's uneasy truce between the living and the undead.… (plus d'informations)

They say everyone has a twin, but being the twin of deceased Katya could prove fatal for Lauren Crow. All over New Orleans, women are vanishing, and according to a handsome, mysterious stranger, it's because of a vampire who is after Lauren because she appears to be identical to another young woman. It has something to please everyone: suspense, romance, thrills, and paranormal elements. ( )

Three friends head to New Orleans to celebrate the upcoming nuptials of one. After visiting a fortune teller, more and more weird things start happening to these women with them being pulled into the center of a dangerous plot by a serial killer. Involves vampires seeking revenge for events which took place around 150 years ago.

All I can say is this was "meh". Not terrible but evoked no emotion from me whatsoever--no fear, no angst, no chemistry, nothing. The story didn't pull me in. I wasn't drawn to the characters. This could have been good. The premise is interesting. It just didn't really feel finished or interesting enough to care about. ( )

I thought I'd give Heather Graham another chance but again was disappointed. The story is uncompelling, the characters bland and the dialogue awful. Some authors just shouldn't attempt paranormal romance. ( )

This was the first time I've read both Heather Graham and a vampire novel, and liked both. It wasn't drippy with romance, just a little, good suspense, and it was almost believable, if you don't believe in vampires...or do you? ( )

Another vampire story in New Orleans, but with a slightly different set of rules for vampires--they can be out in daylight, but they can still be killed by holy water. For some reason this story didn't particularly grab me, but it was well written, and actions and reactions of the various characters were quite believable. Worth giving a try if you like vampire stories. ( )
