(FILMAFFINITY) In order to prove his father's innocence in his wrongful accusation in the murder of his mother, Barry Allen (The Flash) goes back in time to prevent her death, although he finds that he has created a branch in the timeline -- one that has no superheroes to prevent the invasion of the Kryptonian General Zod. Together with a younger version of himself and alternate variants of Batman and Supergirl, Barry must learn a difficult lesson about changing the past. The prerelease hype for The Flash got me excited for this film, but unfortunately it suffered from pretty poor reviews and reception upon its release and I never got around to seeing it in theaters. Still, I had hope that the movie wasn't as bad as the reviews made it out to be -- and that was definitely the case. Aside from some surprisingly awful CGI at some points, I really don't have many issues with this movie. It feels almost like an MCU film in its tone, while it has a rather shockingly heartfelt story beneath its superhero wrapping. The acting is also very solid; Ezra Miller does a great job as both Barrys, and it was great to see the return of Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, Jeremy Irons, Gal Gadot, and so many others as iconic heroes of past DC films. It is a bit sad to see this as a farewell to so much of this universe, but it is a solid sendoff, albeit not as epic in its scope as you might have been led to believe. It is still a really good film, and one that superhero fans should definitely give a chance -- just be ready for some pretty rough CGI. Highly recommended, especially for superhero fans. Content Concerns: A good bit of violence throughout, with a fair amount of blood seen in some battle scenes. There are also about 14 uses of vulgarity; primarily "sh-t," but a few uses each of "-ss" and "d-ck" and 1 use of "f-ck" in the final scene. In one scene, Barry also loses his clothes due to his superpowers, but nothing too critical is seen. (September 9, 2023) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
