There have been several critical junctures in the development of the nursing profession, points where the field pushed forward into new territory, and shaped the future of nursing. The Delmar Nursing History video will focus three of these turning points. It examines the social, political and economic history of the era, and then look at how the nursing profession was evolving at that time. It focuses on what was changing in the profession, but also what has remained the same throughout time: the nurse as caregiver, and as a vital part of the healing process.
