The next morning he wakes up to clucking and squawking and realises he is in a hen house. The hens would rather have a rooster with them and are not happy with the owl. They ask the owl to cock-a-doodle like a rooster and all he can say is "hoo-hoo". One of the hens shows him kindness and tries to teach him how to be a rooster and the owl did well until he had to cock-a-doodle. The hens were not impressed and the owl became annoyed with the hens and told them he was an owl not a fowl. Suddenly there was rat in the hen house and the owl flew across the shed and ate it. The hens were now impressed with the owl and called him their special rooster. I liked this book since it had colorful pictures that children would like. Extension 1. I would have the students write a few sentences about an owl. 2. Talk to the children about not giving up in a situation where even if you are different you can stay in that situation and eventually you will be succesful. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
