This book is about a young girl who shares all the things she enjoys about being young and little. She shares her ideas of what is fun to do that sometimes adults don’t enjoy.

This book is a cute book about growing up. The story is of a little girl who wants to stay little. She explains to her mom all of the things that young children can do that grown-ups cannot do. Sometimes children want to grow up to fast and act older than they are. This would be a good group read to remind all the students that being a kid is fun and they should enjoy it while it last.

This book is about a little girl who enjoys being little. Her mom wants to know that she would like to be when she grows up but the little girl says she doesn't want to grow up. The little girl tells her mother how much she likes being a kid and tells about all the things she enjoys that grown-ups don't do.

This book would be a good book to read to children to let them see that being a kid is fun. Many children want to grow up too fast, this book may let them see how much fun they have as a child.

This book is about a little girl who likes being little because she enjoys doing things that grown ups cannot do or do not like to do, such as dress up for Halloween, color with crayons, play in the leaves, go barefoot in the summertime, and have the ice cream man know her name. She appreciates the small things in life that make being little fun. She does not want to grow up but she enjoys having her mom tuck her in and dreaming of growing up to be like her mom. ( )

This picture book was a great example of realistic fiction because the plot and characters were believable. The main character in the story is a little girl. The book starts with the mother asking her daughter what she wants to be when she grows up. The girl tells her mother she doesn't want to grow up. In this book the little girl tells her mother reasons why she wants to stay little. She has many different reasons and you get to hear her mother's responses to all of her reasons. At the end the little girl tells her mother the last reason why she wants to stay little and that is so she can think about growing up. Once you are an adult you are already grown up.

The author of this book uses a lot of repetition. The phrase “that’s why I like being little” is repeted on every page that the girl givens a reason from staying little.
The illustrations of this book are done in watercolors.
It is a good book for K-2 Grades. www.charlottezolotow.com ( )
