I love a good series since it feels comfortable, like hanging out with friends. I enjoyed this book, but missed Tom as a sensible part of the story. ( ) Goldy Bear, caterer, is getting married to Tom Schulz, homicide detective. Goldy belongs to the Aspen Meadow Episcopalian Church. She is also catering several committee meetings at the church. There are warring factions in the church: the old school vs. the charismatics. Rev. Olson is a charismatic and locally known for the possible miracle of healing the sick. He is also involved with a married member of the church. One the day of their wedding, Tom calls Goldy to tell her that he is picking up Rev. Olson. However, neither Tom or Ted Olson show up at the church. The police go out to check and find the body of Ted Olson, but no Tom. Tom has been kidnapped. With Tom missing and the wedding on hold, Goldy does what she does best: cook and snoop for clues. The church is awash with turmoil. I found this to be a decent fast moving read. There is a lot of religion and not much humor, which is unusual for this series. We all have heard of wedding disasters. This one beats them all. Imagine on the wedding day, the bride learns from the groom that the minister who is to marry them has just been found murdered. Then the groom goes missing. This is exactly what Goldy experienced. While slow in places, I still enjoyed it. And those delicious sounding recipes make this another winne aucune critique | ajouter une critique
