didn't finish. Needs an editor, character consistency, and some more polish. ( )

Ahhhhhhh! Why did I wait so long to read this!! I've had this book on my TBR list for quite some time but for some reason I just never found the time to start it. But once I did, I flew through it. I think I finished this book in less than 24 hours! Lor is a wonderfully written, strong willed FMC and I cannot wait to dive further into her character in the sequel, she seems to have a lot of history that she keeps hidden and I'm curious to see how things progress between her, Atlas and Nadir. I can definitely see why this book is often compared to ACOTAR but it is absolutely its own work of art! ( )

Right away I got heavy Tamlin/Rhys vibes - hence I ended up predicting everything in it. The main character also wasn’t very likeable and I didn’t enjoy any of the romantic prospects.
Heavy on abuse.
Will not be continuing the series. ( )

The cover caught my eye, the blurb intrigued me, but Tuli's masterful storytelling is what kept me captivated for hours. I knew going in this was going to be one of those love it or hate it books, and I adored it. Lor is an amazing MC, she's smart, strong, and determined, even in the face of overwhelming odds and a situation she should never have been placed in. (Seriously, what's a human supposed to do when surrounded by fae who want her dead??) The world building was top-notch, and I was a little sad when I reached the end and had to leave it. I can't wait for book two, and get to see more of the world and see Lor again. ( )
