Botero is de man van de mollige mannen en vrouwen, zowel in zijn schilderijen als in zijn beeldhouwwerk. Hij is erg geïnspireerd door de schilders uit de Italiaanse Renaissance. Voor het lezen van dit boekje had ik nog nooit van hem gehoord. ( )
This is a great basic introduction to Fernando Botero's life and art, and doesn't shy away from exploring questions around just how much of a "serious" artist Botero is (given the somewhat bland and unchallenging nature of some of his paintings). As with other titles in this series, plenty of high-quality reproductions of the oeuvre are included, which makes this book a bargain for the low cover price. ( )
