First Valentine is Book 2 in the Kit & Tully Series The tale of Kit & Tully and their fateful choice, Love or Music, continues from Kit’s point of view. The story opens at the end of the summer. Kit is dreading going back to boarding school but hopes an exciting opportunity will soon bring Tully to Dublin too! But when nothing goes as planned, and Mac Whitehead reveals his true colours, Kit becomes convinced that she and Tully really did wake Aonghus and are now faced with the consequences of their choice. Tully clearly doesn’t believe any of it, and her closest friends are sceptical, so Kit decides it’s up to her to change things. She’s disturbed a sleeping Celtic god once before but, now she knows what’s at stake, can she do it again? And, if she does, will Aonghus make things even worse? FIRST VALENTINE is releasing February 7, 2023. I really want to see Kit and Tully's relationship develop! T_I_Harper Ah this story always takes me back to the 90s parchments-tale Super excited to find out what happens! Your plot gives me the chills. I love it! jbodwellwrites It's also nice to see Kit and Tully together again, in a real relationship setting this time, where they can show their feelings… so you've done a good job of building that tension and stringing along the reader! aucune critique | ajouter une critique

So this was the 2nd instalment, and I liked it better. Told from Kit's pov, her actions and reactions are those of a typical teenager: one minute going out of her way to make sure Tully can have a career in showbiz, the next being jealous of the time he spends with his bandmates, one minute her life is at an end unless she can go to art college, the next, she's OK with her parents plans as long as she can move in with her friends, showing her as a totally immature, therefore believable, character. Tully's mother's illness, hinted at in the first book, is finally confirmed, making the move from Dublin to the small town of Drimshanra even more illogical, as she must travel to Dublin for treatment. Luckily, Kit's mom steps in, finding the perfect solution. Speaking of whom, I was a bit surprised that Kit's ultra-strict parents from "The First Kiss" are now looking favourably on their academic high-flyer daughter's romantic relationship with a lowly video store clerk.
Also, now that Tully moves back to his hometown - does he visit his old haunts? Re-connect with friends from school? Nope, he does not seem to know a soul in town. Is there a mystery here?
One thing I found a bit irritating was Kit's constantly throwing hints at the reader of "having met/woken/been offered a choice by Aonghus" when we did not actually see this scene, as it fell into the 1st book from Tully's pov, who, however, has no remembrance of it. There seems to be a 1.5 book, which might tell this scene. Sadly, it's not available anywhere.
Anyway, this 2nd part left me with a more favourable impression, I'd like to know what comes next. ( )
