"Existential Smut 1: Youthful Indiscretions" Hapax Legomenon (Editor)I tried to like this book, but it just didn't do it for me. That is not to say that it won't do it for you. Most of the stories are written in a dreamy fantasy of sexual acts with others, yet the reader is left feeling that it's someone else's fantasy instead of creating new fantasies for the reader to imagine. I think the description may have thrown me off, or just perhaps the "normal" style of smut was something more expected. For it being a free eBook on Google for anyone to acquire, read, review, it is worth a try if you think it might be your kind of thing. It is, but not in the way you might be led to believe based on that information. There's very little sex and mostly the thoughts of people wanting to do erotic things to other people, but generally not doing them. I wasn't a fan of the writing style and spending so much time in the different people's heads. As a woman, I found some of the stories a little uncomfortable. For example, (some spoilers/ in one this guy wants to be intimate with a woman who learned she has breast cancer and has to get a double mastectomy. She's upset about it, and he tells her that he could do it with her to distract her, while she's still beautiful. Most of that story is her rejecting him over and over and him pursuing and thinking that she needs to stop thinking about her cancer. I found it really hard to read that story and not feel like he wasn't listening to her and that he only wanted to be with her for her physical appearance. I know it's not romance, but it was hard to get through, for me. But if reading about how other people think about erotic encounters is your cup of tea, this is a good book for you. It's just not for me. Cette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. The book is a collection of erotic experiences, I assume from the author to his female friend. Some are quite good and some I didn't understand. There is really no sex in the stories but they are good written and thought up fantasy's. After reading the male version story it's interesting to hear the female friends comments on what was written. A good book if you really want to read something different. I did enjoy the entire contentCette critique a été écrite dans le cadre des Critiques en avant-première de LibraryThing. I think, therefore I am, said Descartes.First of all, I am. Then comes thinking. Said the existentialists. And "Existential Smut" seeks to give this primacy its prerogative - to seek truth in our blunt nakedness. The short stories in the volume very cleverly and stirringly address the blunt play on the one hand, the tangled aberrations on the other, that our urge for lust can result in. This lust, this desire changes in the course of life. This desire, this passion increases, but also collapses again. This desire wants to be bargained for. And it disguises itself only too gladly. It is dreamed of - the dreams analyzed in succession. And, and, and. One should not expect porn from this anthology (although porn is widely discussed). It is literature, good literature, that made me think. What greater praise can you give a booklet? aucune critique | ajouter une critique
