I'm reviewing not only Terra Firma but also pointing out some opinions about Earthquake Series, excluded [b:Frankie's Knight|23109830|Frankie's Knight Elemental Connections IV (Earthquake #3.5)(Pulp Friction #15.5)|T.A. Webb|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1409094523s/23109830.jpg|42657158]. I consider that the inclusion of it in PF 2014 is too forced and clearly unnecessary as much for the shared central story in Pulp Friction as well as for the Earthquake Series per se.

Earthquake is somehow like a soap opera, there is a bit of everything: A serial killer, an ex-lover, kidnapping, rape, presumed abandon, big revelations, group catharsis, parental rejection, etc. And yummy sex. ¿Suspension of disbelief? I didn't think too much about that thanks to the author's skill, I simply dipped and I enjoyed it.

My major little niggle is that, maybe because the three main characters are very connected with their feelings, sometimes the prose remains near a maudlin edge.

I said in my [b:Higher Ground|20927000|Higher Ground (Earthquake #1) (Pulp Friction 2014 #4)|T.A. Webb|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1393452198s/20927000.jpg|40296037]'s review: «T.A. Webb put forward an important challenge to himself: Changing the insufferable Amos in somebody for who we can feel sympathy». That goal became a reality amply through a credible progress, with moments in which Amos frankly shone.

In this last episode at last we know about Amos's origins.. Charlie's reluctance to reveal said origins to Amos seemed somewhat nonsensical to me, and the circumstances that surround them are a little too melodramatic although consistent with the era. That is a T.A.'s virtue that you'll find in all his books: An accurate settlement of timelines and concordance between periods and social dynamics.

Charlie is simply fantastic, Do you know what I love most about Charlie? That he's a decent and mentally healthy guy! The conscience of his own value and his self-respect allow him to exteriorize doubts and fears, to have frankness, tolerance and clarity about where're his affections and loyalties, assuming with devotion the responsibilities with his beloveds and being —hell yeah!— a Sweet Big Bottom Boy without the smaller complex..

At last Damon. With his mood swings, his goings and comings, his childish actions and sudden maturative leaps, along with a well defined personality, this is a teenage character extraordinarily elaborated, moreover in the light of certain events and circumstances of his life. Damon clamors for his own story. I can foresee him like a grown man, at once strong and vulnerable, sarcastic and tender. And would also be cool revisiting Charlie and Amos.. ( )
