Proof of the Afterlife: The dead don't die. True Tales of the Afterlife from bestselling author of Unexplained Mysteries Steph Young. You can also hear some of these tales on the podcast: Unexplained: Tales of Mystery Unexplained. 'My little son spoke to me... and afterwards materialized within 5 inches of my face. My little boy asked for his mummy and spoke about a bottle. "Don't you remember? You put it in my hand when I was in my coffin?" 'Dr. Reynolds appeared, fully materialised. He chatted to me just as any doctor would chat with a patient in his consulting room, taking my head in his materialised hands and examining it.' 'The face was quite solid, without colouring but obviously alive; the lips moved in an attempt to answer me... "I have no pain now; I do not suffer as I used to ... isn't it glorious?" 'A number of spirit children materialised. They were mischievous and set-about ruffling-up a gentleman guest's hair, pulling his tie and tickling his legs, with yelps of delight.' Steph Young is a bestselling author on unexplained mysteries, and has been a guest on national radio shows. She also hosts the podcast Unexplained: Tales of Mysteries Unexplained, rated in the top 1% of podcasts and available on itunes or wherever you get your podcasts. This book is the result of two year's intensive study of physical mediumship, both past and present; of the 'dead' physically returning, of 'spirit doctors' curing "incurable" patients, of interviewing numerous mediums, and of joining a development circle in order to become a medium myself. To say it's been a wild ride would be an understatement. I've stepped into a mysterious, compelling, addictive and utterly mind-blowing arena, where I've seen things I never thought possible; where I've communicated directly with family in the afterlife, had spirits take over my body, and felt the physical touch of spirits. I've heard and seen 'dead' people, been operated on by a "spirit doctor", and I've been poked, prodded and tickled by spirit children. Of course, unless it's personally seen, felt, and experienced, this is all understandably very hard to believe, and I'm as sceptical as the next person; perhaps even more so. I'd encourage the reader to venture into their own exploration to discover this proof, that no matter how much it defies our logical, rational mind, these things can and really do happen, as I've discovered for myself; that the dead don't really die: they're still around us, all the time. The purpose of this book is to shine a light on some of these compelling accounts, of spirits healing "incurable" people, of the "dead" physically returning to speak with and embrace their loved ones, and to show you just how close to us the spirit world really is; if only you would dare to discover.... Proof of the Afterlife: The Dead don't die. True Tales of the Afterlife. Unexplained Mysteries: Proof of the Afterlife. Heaven is Real. Evidence of what happens when we die. I was not expecting a rehash of psychics and mediums over the last 150 years. This made reading a bit tedious, I did enjoy the author’s own accounts of discovering her own mediumship abilities. Unfortunately this is one of those few books I couldn’t finish. Being a pdf made reading more difficult. ( )

I really wanted to enjoy this book. I am always intrigued by the topic, but I felt the stories in this book didn’t go too far. It was hard for me to connect to the book. ( )

Proof of the Afterlife: The Dead Don't Die. True Tales of the Afterlife is by Steph Young. I was interested to read this book as I have experienced grief from the loss of loved ones recently. I was hoping to read a bit more about experiences of mediums and readings. The book was interesting, but a little disjointed at times. We went from one person/time period to another which was a little jarring. I did like these stories and imagine the author did quite a bit of research for this book which I can appreciate. Some parts were fascinating, I enjoyed reading about the author's spiritual journey the most. Enjoyable read but would have liked maybe a more coherent range of chapters as each story didn't naturally flow into each other ( )

Proof of the Afterlife strives to encourage people to open their minds to possibilities. The author divides the book into stories. Each chapter presents a story from the author’s research into mediumship and other psychic phenomenon to include psychic surgery. Whether the reader is a believer or skeptic, the stories presented offer an interesting look into another world that offers hope to all who have lost a loved one. ( )

I was truly looking forward to reading this book, as ghosts/spirits and the afterlife are topics I'm very interested in. Overall, the stories contained in this book were entertaining, and for the most part I found them interesting.
My biggest issue was that the presentation of the stories left a lot to be desired. At times I felt as though the author was rambling or just writing in a stream of consciousness style, which at times made it hard to follow the events being recorded. It almost seemed as though the author simply published a series of podcast transcripts without editing them for readability.
