Very well written.

I was expecting more information but this was more of a DIY book. I could see this being useful for someone who wants to fill in blanks with their own information, but for someone who wants to learn for themselves and apply what they learned this may not be the book for them. ( )

Want More Profit" by Strong Honor - My first impression of this book was good. It is small and nicely organized, with space to take notes after each section. I felt it would serve as a handy, easily accessible reference for my finances. Better yet, the front cover portrays a Bible verse, insinuating that it is Christian based. However, I quickly learned that my initial impressions were incorrect. This is not to say that the book is a complete disaster, but just not at all what I expected. First off, although it did have Biblical references, it also has references to other religions and beliefs. That is totally fine. Just don't be deceived to think it is Christian based. Second, The title leads you to believe the book is about finances or " profit". Again, although the author does discuss a system for managing a budget, the book goes into many more topics than this. Speaking of topics, I am actually not exactly sure how all the topics go together. Overall, I will say that the book is well organized and each small chapter stays on topic and does share useful information. However, if you are looking for a book on finances, I'm not sure this is the book for you.

The first thing I noticed, when I opened the book, was the very generous amount of pages for notes. They come after each chapter and almost equal to the number of pages with the text.
The book somehow was not exactly what I expected. It's mainly about how to save money the most possible (plus some bits of other stuff). At first, trying to fit in the suggested 400-dollar-budget, but not stopping there, striving to constantly improve in saving.
There a few biblical phrases. However, some ideas of the writer do not look very Christian. As someone has already mentioned, the part about designer clothes to me sounded odd as coming from (supposedly) a Christian person.
Another bit I found unchristian, maybe almost machiavellian, was about hope: "Take advantage of Hope. It motivates people in all directions. Use that to your advantage, like a carrot you can lead others with".
His view on feeling ("Love is missing someone") does not exactly match mine.

These thoughts of his left an impression on me that the author of this book might not actually understand what true love is, and sees everything in a very calculated manner. And that was the exact impression that the book left on me - as very calculating, let it be money, friendship, love.... anything.

Some of the ideas themselves are not bad. I personally did not find it very useful. However, there will always be people needing (sometimes even basic) guidance and they could definitely make some use of its advice. The fact that it's written in almost like a manual style might come as an advantage in such a case. ( )

It has some good points about saving money on food and what to do about housing. But at times there is advice that doesn’t really work. Or other options never get mentioned.

The wants vs needs section bring up a good point.

But the print size should have been much larger. I need to read about profit not take a free eye test. ( )
