Not much background is given for Myron or Win and I like that. Because I’ve read subsequent novels, I know more than I should at this stage, but still not as much as I’d like. That, the relationship between Win and Myron and Win’s expert violent behavior remind me of the Elvis Cole novels. I think that’s why I like these. They’re not as well crafted as the Crais series, but these are good. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

I wasn't too impressed with these. Mylon Bolitar is a former basketball player turned sports agent after a bad injury. He has teamed up with a "friend" WASP Win who is an imoral martial arts killer. Conveniently available to dispose of any of Myron's problems without saddling Myron with any of the consequences.
In deal breaker an aspiring american football player is dogged by rumours of promiscuity - lowering his value to endorsers and Myron's pocket. Myron and Win visit various seedy characters to investigate who is behind this.
Drop shot covers Myron's 'hero-complex' investigation of a murdered tennis wanna-be, and her connection to Myron's latest prodgedy. Is the 6 yr old death of a Sentator's son on a tennis court in anyway related.
Both these books feature fairly simple plots. There are many twists and turns but no red herrings, everything mentioned is related in some way to the final solution. Not particularly gripping, and I didn't much like Myron. ( )
