This would be an excellent book to share with the strong women you know or the strong women you are encouraging others to be. ( ) I generally have a hard time with poetry-- I don't read much of it-- but these were really lovely. Maya Angelou's writing is powerful, inspirational, and passionate. "Phenomenal Woman" is a great poem celebrating women, but the one that caught my attention in particular was "Our Grandmothers", recounting how women of the past have paved the way, in often painful and difficult times, for the generations after. My favorite author, poet & woman. Wisdom that can't be described. I've Loved her for going on 30 years. She is the Auntie/Mother/Grandmother we all need & grateful God graced us all with her and He gave her the ability to speak and write to us all! Our Elder is now an Ancestor we can learn from for as long as this earth exist! This book is filled with the incredibly powerful words of Maya Angelou. I have always loved her as a writer, so I was sure I would love this. It did not disappoint. My favorite poem out of all of them is Phenomenal Woman because it really makes me feel proud to be a perfectly imperfect woman. Overall, this book was fantastic, and I would highly recommend it! aucune critique | ajouter une critique
