Muito bom com histórias interessantes de autores que ainda não tinha lido como Roger Zelazny, Orson Scott-Card e outros. Vale muito a pena ler ( ) As it presents all the Hugo winners of the years 1986, 1987, and 1988 in the categories short story, novellette, and novella, the length of the stories in the book vary wildly. The novellas can be 75 pages long and the short stories under 20 pages long. This affects the reading experience as well. You'll have to approach the book differently as a normal short story collection. I did not know that, and was sometimes almost frustrated with the novellas (especially with "24 Views of Mt. Fuji, by Hokusai" which also was a slow-going story). Another thing to note is how differently scifi-stories age. The above-mentioned "24 Views" by Roger Zelazny is almost endearing with its computer terminals and views of the global network. Whereas the highlights of the book, "Why I left Harry's All-night Hamburgers" by Lawrence Watt-Evans and "Buffalo Gals, Won't You Come Out Tonight" by Ursula K. Le Guin could have been written yesterday. The more you put technology into your scifi story, the faster it will age... :) I think the collection was very uneven, but the above-mentioned two stories plus "Paladin of the Lost Hour" by Harlan Ellison make it very worth buying (if you can find one somewhere, that is...). aucune critique | ajouter une critique
