The mystery was more intriguing than the first book but I still despise Darina, how does this girl have friends? It's like she's perpetually in Bella a la New Moon mode. ( )

This book left me completely unimpressed. I thought the first book was mediocre, but this was just plain bad. It took me forever to get through it- not because it was hard to read (it was very basic) but it was just so incredibly boring and the characters really annoyed me. No character has ever annoyed me as much as Darina. She's so completely self-absorbed it's sickening. She spends the whole time saying how stupid her parents are (for things like asking her how she is) and being horrible to her only friend. At one point, her step-father is in a car accident and she actually says ''Him being in an accident isn't top of my priority list'' and puts it out of her mind to go hang in her bedroom with her boyfriend. The whole thing was just boring and irritating and I have no desire to read the next one. ( )

The second story, this time Darina has to find out why Arizona drowned in Hartmann Lake, a verdict of suicide has been returned but that really doesn't gel with what Darina knows about Arizona. She still hasn't dealt truly with the fact that her boyfriend is actually dead and she will have to live without him eventually.

Darina has a lot of angst and is not really dealing with a lot of her issues, she's dealing with other people issues, this series has potential to be interesting once she has to deal with Phoenix's death. However right now it's quite slight and actually I'm starting to get a little bit bored with the main character. There are a few background characters I'd like to see fleshed out a little more ( )

Darina has been missing Phoenix for several weeks. But she knows that he and the Beautiful Dead will be showing up soon, because Arizona's death is reaching the deadline for the truth to be found out. And sure enough, the Beautiful Dead do come back.

Darina knows that she has to help Arizona, but she's not a fan. Arizona has always been cold and a drama queen. But Darina soon comes to find out why Arizona acts the way she does. Plus, Darina has to find out just what happened at Hartmann Lake. Everyone says it was suicide, but Darina doesn't buy it - Arizona wasn't the type to kill herself. So Darina slowly starts to find out Arizona's secrets. But does she find out what happened to the girl before time runs out??

Before I started reading this book, I remember thinking that my opinion of the first book in the BEAUTIFUL DEAD series was mixed. I remember thinking it was just an okay book and I wasn't sure that I would like this one. But I did! I definitely enjoyed it more than JONAS.

I feel that we got a much better read on the three main characters in this story. I liked Darina more, although I still don't like how she treats her mother. I still really liked Phoenix. And we really get to know Arizona and why she was the way she was.

I definitely didn't see the end coming. I had a couple of different ideas about what happened to Arizona, but none of them were right. I love when that happens! The next book in the series is called SUMMER, and I look forward to reading it! ( )

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to catch on with this book because it is the second one in a series and I will admit I didn't read the first one Beautiful Dead Jonas. It was very easy to catch on the story line and I'm pretty sure if you read or didn't read the first book it wouldn't matter. Each characters has their own story and needs help finding out how their life ended.

I loved the main characters and the small characters each with their own unique personalities. They all left me wanting more and wanting them to be happy.

In this Beautiful Dead book, Darina has to help Arizona fine out how she died. Arizona doesn't make it easy or helps. That is till Darina discovers Raven, Arizona's Autistic brother. I loved Raven and the relationship him and Arizona shared. She was his shadow and would do anything to protect him from anybody. Arizona had such a strong personality and it shows. I cried when they found how she died. Not so much how but the story behind it and how emotional it was.

I love the relationship between Dariana and Phoenix. Phoenix is her boyfriend and part of the Beautiful Dead. They were in a relationship before and now after he died. I love how he protects here but lets her do things her way even if he doesn't like it. I think they make a strong powerful couple.

Then there is Hunter, the Beautiful Dead leader. I found him quite strange how he talks about the way he died and his wife with Dariana. But he is also very strong and powerful, it comes through a lot.

There were twist and turns in this story, that I didn't see coming. Some I was shocked, and some not so much. I really enjoyed this book and I am hoping to be picking up the next book in the series Summer!
