Anyone interested in pursuing an investment strategy for good social, environmental, and ethical impact - at market rate returns - should read Sustainable & Responsible Investing 360°.

The ideas and strategies of sustainable and responsible investing have become not only mainstream but also extraordinarily relevant to the next generation of investors as issues like climate change, social fairness, and political conflict take centre stage in today's headlines.

When it comes to investing, companies that support the environment aren't typically the first thing that comes to mind, but this book is a wonderful place to start.

It covers a wide spectrum of implications through speaking with business executives who are applying the principles of sustainable and responsible investing. SRI has an impact on a variety of areas, including health care, forestry, food, and biodiversity. Combating the effects of climate change is also crucial. ( )

Companies that help the environment aren't usually the first thing you think of when talking about investing - but this book is a great introductory guide to seeking them out. Taking care of the environment isn't just about recycling, it's about voting with your money, and not just by what you purchase in stores. There are interviews with professionals in different fields included, that give great insight into various facets. The way the book is divided up makes it easy to read and understand, allowing the reader to pause and digest between chapters. Highly recommend if you want to make sure your life is sustainable in as many areas as possible. ( )

Sustainable and Responsible Investing by R. Scott Arnell is an engaging investment book that covers a wide range of topics. The book is formatted into small sections answering specific questions or delving into specific concepts. Arnell spoke with dozens of professionals to make sure that all the topics covered in this book are from a range of knowledgeable professionals. I really liked that the focus of this book was on sustainable investing because I don't feel like I see that talked about enough when I try to understand more able investing. This book is written in an engaging voice and the book is well organized so that you can find what elements are the most beneficial for you. I would recommend this book. ( )

Swiss author Scott Arnell is the founder of Geneva Capital S.A. – an alternative investment advisory firm specializing in sustainable and responsible investment opportunities – or SRI, the focus of this book. His business experience in Asia, Europe, and Latin America has made him an authority and he shares his concept of discovering investments that make a positive impact on the world by introducing highly qualified colleagues to post their experience with investing in public equities, fixed income, private equities, private debt, venture capital, and real assets. For many of us the world of money marketing and investing has become clouded from view and understanding, especially now as inflation and recession become ominous terms, but in this book Scott and his learned colleagues make the concepts accessible to all readers. Even more important, the tenor of the book is positive, demonstrating how investing responsibly can improve the status of the world while still providing significant financial returns.

An example of Scott’s ease of communication: ‘You are an impact investor, whether the impact exerts good in the world or has an adverse impact. The choice is yours, and the products available to the conscientious investor are, fortunately, more varied, focused, accessible, and attractive than ever. Opportunities are available, whether your inclination is to invest in stocks and bonds, innovative technology, community building, charity and philanthropy, human rights and equality, healthcare, affordable housing, commercial real estate, agriculture/aquaculture, private finance, clean water, or consumer products and retail trade. You name it…there’s an SRI entryway with your name on it.’ Wise advice from a caring expert. Highly recommended. ( )

Sustainable & Responsible Investing 360: Lessons Learned from World Class Investors by Scott Arnell is different from any investment book you will read. The author's experience in poverty-stricken countries while traveling ignited a spark that created a burning desire to invest in others. He wants to be responsible when he invests, so he diligently sought companies that make this world a better place by helping people or the environment. My favorite chapter to read was on Real Assets. I love the asset of Forestry. As the author interviews these professionals in their fields you will be well educated about their passion and drive. I was impressed with how well documented this book is and the work that went into gathering this information. ( )
