View from the Middle of the Road describes the movement of the author from the radical right to the middle with regard to her understanding of life in today's society. Born in a culture that to this day still believes its members have not arrived, the author works to capture through poetic license the education she has received through interaction with friends, family, colleagues, and firsthand events. The point being, we experience and sometimes are forever changed based on what we learn from our social interactions. The book's title is derived from political terms which have become fuzzy overtime because of the media's constant use of buzz words which dilute the true meaning of what we may perceive as our truth. Some of the poems will make you laugh, some will uplift. While some of the poems you may not get at all. Appreciation will depend on where you, the reader, are in your journey. The main idea is that life is a journey, and what better metaphor than to compare it to traveling on a road. We have all found ourselves looking back, sitting on the sidelines but never totally off the road. That only comes when we have reached the end of the journey. Until then, keep track of the signs on your own road. You never know, there may be one signaling you that it is your time to share the insights of your travels.
