A collection of twenty-one classic fables from Aesop, retold by the talented Michael Morpurgo, described on the dust-jacket flap as the "children's laureate of Britain." Here the reader will encounter old favorites like The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse and The Goose That Laid the Golden Egg, as well as some lesser-known selections like The Peacock and the Crane.

I thought that this book was great. I like the fact that all the fables are in one place. They all have great life lesson for children to learn.

Reaction: I love this book. This is a great book for little life lessons. Children love these stories, and they are much milder compared to the Traditional Fantasy of the Grimm brothers. This book has many great drawings and has the lesson at the end of each story.

Extension: This would be good to end the day with, to give the kids something to think about when they go home. When they go to school, they need to learn so much, but sometimes life lessons need to be taught at school if no one is teaching them at home, and this would be a fun way to do so. ( )
