( ) James.Igoe | Jul 26, 2017 | I found a strange little error: "The meaning of a flexible rubber tube to carry liquid is first recorded in 1339." How can this be? There were no flexible (or inflexible) rubber tubes in 1339 because there was no rubber in the Old World. Slips such as this bother me because I lose confidence in the accuracy of the book.
