*INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER* *INSTANT USA TODAY BESTSELLER* *INSTANT #1 INDIE BESTSELLER* From the New York Times bestselling author of Red, White & Royal Blue comes a new romantic comedy that will stop readers in their tracks... For cynical twenty-three-year-old August, moving to New York City is supposed to prove her right: that things like magic and cinematic love stories don't exist, and the only smart way to go through life is alone. She can't imagine how waiting tables at a 24-hour pancake diner and moving in with too many weird roommates could possibly change that. And there's certainly no chance of her subway commute being anything more than a daily trudge through boredom and electrical failures. But then, there's this gorgeous girl on the train. Jane. Dazzling, charming, mysterious, impossible Jane. Jane with her rough edges and swoopy hair and soft smile, showing up in a leather jacket to save August's day when she needed it most. August's subway crush becomes the best part of her day, but pretty soon, she discovers there's one big problem: Jane doesn't just look like an old school punk rocker. She's literally displaced in time from the 1970s, and August is going to have to use everything she tried to leave in her own past to help her. Maybe it's time to start believing in some things, after all. Casey McQuiston's One Last Stop is a magical, sexy, big-hearted romance where the impossible becomes possible as August does everything in her power to save the girl lost in time. "A dazzling romance, filled with plenty of humor and heart." - Time Magazine, "The 21 Most Anticipated Books of 2021" "Dreamy, other worldly, smart, swoony, thoughtful, hilarious - all in all, exactly what you'd expect from Casey McQuiston!" - Jasmine Guillory, New York Times bestselling author of The Proposal and Party for Two… (plus d'informations)

Full disclosure - I read this for a challenge and in all honesty, sapphic stories aren’t typically on my radar.

In general, I felt a disconnect with August. As much as we get why she is who she is, I still don’t have a clear picture. On the other hand, there is so much waxing poetic about Jane that the reader has no choice but to love her hard.

I adored [b:Red, White & Royal Blue|41150487|Red, White & Royal Blue|Casey McQuiston|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1566742512l/41150487._SY75_.jpg|61657690] from this author. It had so much swoon and humor and a great supporting cast. For me, this didn’t have much of the former, and the latter is what saved this book from a lower rating. Also, blatant grounded contemporary with a supernatural twist is very hard to pull off in my opinion. Once the conflict was fully revealed, the premise just didn’t jive for me. So… when one’s not meshing with a story, it doesn’t help either that this felt 200 pages too long.

Again, all the points toward the entertaining fully representative cast. Overall, in the grand scheme of things, how I feel about this book is unimportant. There’s plenty of 5 star reviews and ratings out there that can tell you why this could be the next awesome read for you - it all depends on personal preferences and what you’re jonesing for in the here and now! Good for what it is, I just never really got into magic realism. ( )

Omg this book. It’s so cute and funny and just overwhelmingly beautiful. I laughed, I cried, I got mad, and I was so so happy. How dare this book be so good. ( )

This was much better than Red, White, and Royal Blue. It's a supernatural, time traveling, science fiction, friendship making, and lesbian meet-cute all in one. It's the life I had when I was in my 20s, minus a time traveling girlfriend and a public transit paranormal event. It makes me thankful for the life I have lived with the friends I have met, and the ending ties together so neatly that is a brown paper package that's tied up with string, and it will easily be one of your favorite things. Biyu (aka Jane) and August deserve each other, and I'm happy that they wind up together in the same time period. Once upon a time I hated PDA on public transit, but now that I'm older, I love it, not because I engage in it, but because I am happy for people when they experience love. I will say that I won't ever engage in sex on WMATA because I think the trains are gross, and I think King County and Sound Transit (where I lived during my 20s) are even grosser. I imagine MTA is about as disgusting as public transit gets. ( )
