A sexy Fire Elemental on the verge of self-combustion. A human woman with a touch of Water in her blood. A supernatural foe bent on destruction. Levi, warrior and Fire Elemental, has one mission-to protect the mortal realm from the forces of Chaos. But that changes after a chance encounter with a human woman whose smile makes him burn hotter than the fire inside him. Brooke Simmonds can't forget the mysterious man with flames in his eyes and strange tattoos on his arms who walked through an inferno to save her from a devistating apartment fire. When she finds him again, their reunion ignites a fiery passion that threatens to consume them both. But Levi is back for another, more urgent reason. The Chaolt are after Brooke. There's a power awakening inside her, and they plan to exploit it. She's suddenly sucked into a world, and a war, she never knew existed while Levi's powers blaze even more out of control, endangering everyone around him. The attraction between Levi and Brooke is so hot it sizzles, but if he doesn't get his fire in check and stop the Chaolt, the entire town of Topaz Ridge may go up in flames.… (plus d'informations)

I received a copy for an honest review. I stopped reading on page 104 . . . I rate this book 2 stars: firstly - I liked the concept. Secondly . . . I couldn't finish this novel due to the grammar - the lack of proper punctuation- comma splicing and 'and' splicing. Lastly: I found three spelling mistakes. My suggestion would be to take your time and reread because there is a lot of potential. ( )

Burn is the first in the Elemental Warriors Book by Joanna Morgan. This book is about Levi, a Fire Elemental warrior, who has a mission to protect the mortal realm from the forces of Chaos. But he meets human woman, Brooke Simmonds. I found this concept of elementals a refreshing new concept. It was nice to learn about the world as they learn about each other and fight to be together. The book did have some pacing issues, it was very slow until the end. I don't mind a slow-burn but thought there could have been more action. And there were some spelling and grammatical errors which should have been picked up before publishing. Overall a solid entry into the paranormal genre, a different type of story that has potential ( )

Burn was a book that I tried very hard to get into, but just couldn't. Perhaps its because it's the first book from this series, but it needs some polish. The transitions between characters were especially clunky. There would be huge time jumps with minimal reference and important decisions would take place off page (such as the newspaper publication of Levi rescuing Brooke). I also understand why, but for the first part of the book Levi is gaslighting the main character pretty strongly and its hard to root for a guy who does that. I see the potential here, because it has all the the elements of a great story and the lore its building is good. I just think it needs a few more iterations before its really able to shine. ( )

Overall this was a really good start to a series and I’m excited to read more. The story involved Elemental warriors that are basically aliens that protect the planet by finding those with latent Elemental powers before the enemy does. If the powers are found and activated by the chaos then natural disasters can happen on a large or small scale. I find this really interesting and I like how it was subtlety mentioned that there are other rare elements besides the big four. Brooke and Levi have a ton of chemistry and there was a fair amount of steam. Sometimes the insta love/connection isn’t favorable but Levi was protective and adorable and the couple had many obstacles to face together. My only negative is that I thought parts of the plot were a little convoluted because there seemed to be rules of the Elementals that were just made up to suit the story. A really good read and I can’t wait to read more! I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy. ( )

I received an early copy of the book and here is my honest review. There were a lot of grammatical errors throughout the story BUT I continued to read the novel to the end. I found this book very interesting!!! The characters were compelling I loved the relationships with all the characters. Especially the build up of the main characters. I do understand that the book is about Levi & Brooke but like I mentioned I wish there were more backstory on the supporting characters also. The Plot of the novel was good I did get lost in the storyline for a bit it made sense later I wish it flowed smoother. You can tell that this book took a while to write building a good dialogue and events that took place made it easy to engage myself and get lost in this love story. It's one of those novels that readers look for when they want to transport you to another dimension. I wonder if the next book continues with Levi and brooks story or if it's a take on the other Elemental Warriors? Overall I give this book a 9.5 out of 10. I wish it flowed smoother, more character build up and backgrounds & some grammatical errors. I do however recommend this book and hope to buy a hard copy of this book. I'm looking forward to the rest of the books of the Elemental Warriors. I LOVED IT!!! ( )
