i enjoyed the second story in this series. I love the focus on leo cause he is my favorite character. it was a fun story but also super heartfelt. I really did miss camp half blood at points but i really did love the story and can't wait for the next one. I also really enjoyed how rick used the new myths into this story. I also really loved Apllo growth in this book and really how each peers are chaining his view on this world! I really can't wait to see what characters appear as cameo next! ( )

This is mostly notes for me, but
Honestly this series is fun, but this book is soooo slow. Basically all of my favorite characters are gone, and every plot point takes a million years. Also Apollo is annoying. Like I know he's suppose to be arrogant and all that, but I find him so grating. And unfortunately, I don't really like the Roman crowd v much, so the next book is like meh for me. ( )

4.5 stars. I love these even more than I loved the Percy Jackson books. The way Apollo is written is wonderfully unique. I really enjoyed all the new additional characters we got to meet in this book. It was very refreshing. ( )

TW/CW: Death, fantasy violence, mild language, injury, mentions of child abuse

RATING: 4/5

REVIEW: The Dark Prophecy is the second book of Rick Riordan’s Trials of Apollo series. The series follows the god Apollo, who has been changed into a gawky human teenager, as he attempts to fulfil his quest to restore all the oracles.

This book takes place in Indianapolis, and as a born Hoosier I couldn’t help but enjoy that part. It made it easier for me to follow the action, which was great.

This book also introduces interesting new characters and brings back some old favorites, as well as introducing the reader to interesting parts of Greek mythology.

This book is also LGBTQIA+ friendly and shows several non-heterosexual relationships.

I recommend this book to fans of YA Fantasy and of Riordan’s other books and series. ( )
